RAC, DRDO Recruitment 2018 - Apply Online for Scientist-B [41 Posts]: Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has published (Advertisement No. 132) recruitment notification for  Scientist-B (Electronics & Comm. Comm. Engg, Computer Science & Engg) vacancies. RAC of DRDO invites online applications from Graduate Engineers including students appearing in their final year examination through RAC website for recruitment to the posts of Scientist 'B' in DRDO in Level-10 (7th CPC) of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100/-) in specified disciplines and categories. Total emoluments (inclusive of HRA and all other allowances) at the time of joining will be approximately Rs. 80,000/- p.m. at the present metro city rate.

1. Electronics & Comm. Comm. Engg

No. of post: 22

Essential Qualification: At least First Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics & Engg Communication Engg from a recognized university or equivalent.

2. Computer Science & Engg.

No. of post: 19

Essential Qualification: At least First Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology in Computer Science & Engg from a recognized university or equivalent.

Age Limit for All : 28 years (31 years for OBC and 33 years for SC/ST candidates)

Pay Scale for All : Level 10 of CPC Pay Matrix starting at ₹ 56100.

Application Fee: ₹ 100/- (No fee for SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates)  to be paid online.

Selection Process
i) The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear in the personal interview to be held at Delhi or any other place as decided by RAC/ DRDO. Shortlisted candidates shall be able to download their interview call letter along with date/venue of personal interview and other relevant documents through the candidate login obtained after successful registration. Intimation in this regard shall be sent as SMS on the registered mobile number of the candidate. Candidate may please note that the Interview call letter will not be sent by post/courier.

ii) Candidates serving in Govt or in Govt owned organisations will be required to produce "NOC" from their respective Department/Employer at the time of interview failing which candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview.

iii) Selection Criteria
The final selection of the candidates will be purely on the basis of discipline wise category wise merit of aggregate of 80% weightage of GATE score and 20% weightage of marks in personal interview. For consideration for selection, a candidate appearing in Personal Interview need to secure minimum qualifying marks of 70% for General candidates and 60% for OBC/SC/ST/DIVYANG candidates.

iv) In addition to the above, any other selection tool/test may be administered, at the sole discretion of the RAC.

v) The offer of appointment to the selected candidates will be restricted to the number of vacancies in order of merit. The appointment, however, will be subject to satisfying conditions like qualifying the Medical examination prescribed for Group A' Technical posts of Govt, of India with Field Service liability and verification of character antecedents besides verification of SC/ST/OBC/ DIVYANG (OH) certificate etc, wherever applicable.

vi) Final result (customised for individual candidate) will be made available at RAC website (


i) Those applications which are not locked/ finalised by the candidates in accordance with the instructions will be automatically rejected by the computer system and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Therefore candidates are advised to Submit/ Finalise the Application carefully and enclose all necessary documents as applicable.

ii) The applicants should ensure their eligibility in respect of age, essential qualifications etc.

iii) No request with respect to the change in any data submitted by the candidates will be entertained once the Closing Date of online submission is over.

iv) The OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates are required to submit requisite certificate in prescribed format of Government of India, from a competent authority. The certificate must have been issued on or after 01 Apr 2018 and must be valid through the Financial Year 2018-19.

v) The number of vacancies for any subject may vary.

vi) Detailed guidelines for submission of online application are available on RAC website (

vii) Translation ambiguity, if any, can be resolved to the English version of the advertisement published in the Employment News.

viii) Dispute, if any. will be subject to the courts/tribunals having jurisdiction over Delhi only.
